Message from CEO and Chairman of the Board

CHANGE
It's A Word We Hope To Hear Often Over The Next 365 Days...

Dear Chamber Member:

For the last 25 years, the Palms West Chamber of Commerce has enjoyed consistent leadership and community building. During those years, we have been able to adapt to the changes and challenges facing a growing community. Now, as Palm Beach County continues to look to the west as the land of opportunity  for business entrepreneurs, corporate centers and housing development, the Palms West Chamber will play an integral part in the economic development of the area. We will work with our local government and developers to be a catalyst for a strong and diverse economic base.

It is now more important than ever for us to continue our efforts at strengthening the chamber's internal infrastructure, offerings to our membership and involvement in local development efforts.

In 2007, 15 new Trustees joined our organization, and we added nearly 100 new members to our membership base - a true reflection of member and community confidence. We delivered increased revenues on all of our special events during difficult economic times. And we added a few new events, including SalsaFest and the Farm City Luncheon, positioned to help members market their services and products while simultaneously networking among the industrial mix and demographic segments within our service area.

We forged ahead with our capital campaign for our new 4,000-square-foot building, which will make it possible for us to execute a groundbreaking during our silver-anniversary year. We have also upgraded our technology - including the implementation of a new member database and chamber web site.

Even with all of these major accomplishments and with many more still to come, we recognize that the most important relationship this chamber fosters is with you, our members and investors. You're looking for the tools and resources to help your business prosper, and we're looking for ways to provide them for you. We are constantly working on your behalf, because when your business flourishes, so does the community. The connection between our members, peers, legislators, press and friends is essential. This chamber continues to be the premier business organization in which to develop these professional relationships.

So, as we reflect on our efforts during the past 25 years and outline our vision for the future, we thank you for your energy, efforts, courage and perseverance as we continue to evolve and deliver our mission.

Sincerely,

Jaene Miranda,
CEO

John Spillane,
